Bob Twigg

Originally from Dublin/Wicklow, I have lived in Waterford for the last 40 years.
Having attended at Gurteen Agricultural College and I completed the Farm Apprenticeship, qualifying as a farm manager.
Working as farm manager on dairy farms in Kilkenny and Tipperary gave me a real understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced by dairy farmers.
While working with Waterford Farm Relief services in the mid 1980’s, I was engaged in a wide variety of jobs, including calf dehorning, milking and freeze branding.
At this time, I trained in hoof care in Ballyhaise Agricultural College with Felix McCabe.
Over the years, hoof care became my main professional role, together with seasonal soil sampling for Teagasc.
I retired from full time work in early 2022, having spent 35 years hoof trimming.
Working with Greenway Agri Training is a great opportunity, enabling me to pass on some of the learnings I have acquired over a lifetime of hoof paring and dealing with the farming community.
